Makerspace

A makerspace is where people can work on projects while sharing ideas, equipment and knowledge. Our Elmira makerspace is available to the entrepreneurs in our program and equipped with everything needed to get from the earliest spark of an idea to the first physical prototype. This includes 2 single-color 3D printers and a new multicolor 3D printer that can handle four types of filament at once. A Glowforge laser cutter handles all sorts of 2D projects in wood or acrylic. The Cricut machine cuts vinyl for decals and iron-ons. A computerized embroidery / sewing machine plus a T-shirt station can help with a wide-variety of branding needs for your business. All of this with expert help on hand to help guide you through the process.

  • Test out your idea: Use our equipment to learn whether a physical product is a good candidate for manufacturing.
  • Build your brand: Make t-shirts, patches, signs, displays, containers and gifts that show off your unique style.
  • Get technical experience: Under our guidance, you can learn how to use the equipment and gain skills that can make you more self-reliant in your business or make you more attractive to future employers.
